Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow allegedly did not set itself the goal of seizing Ukrainian territories, but unleashed a full-scale war to “protect the Russian people.”
He made this statement on the air of the propaganda TV channel “Russia-24”.
“It was not about seizing territories. Neither Crimea, nor Donbas, nor the so-called Novorossiya were an end in themselves. Our task is to protect the people, the Russian people, who have lived on these lands for centuries,” Lavrov said.
He also added that these territories were allegedly “developed by the Russians,” who “shed blood for them,” built cities and infrastructure, mentioning Odessa and Mykolaiv in particular.
As reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow does not rule out the possibility of negotiations with Ukraine, but insists on its own demands.
