Law enforcement officers exposed an FSB agent who coordinated attacks on the Odessa region
The Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB saboteur in the Odessa region who was helping Russian troops prepare strikes on Defense Forces facilities.
This was reported by the press center of the SBU.
According to the investigation, the attacker collected and transmitted the coordinates of the temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian military, and later received the task of setting fire to one of the facilities.
SBU officers worked ahead of time and thwarted the sabotage. Law enforcement officers also secured the Defense Forces units whose geolocations the corrector had managed to record.
The investigation found that the agent was a 41-year-old unemployed resident of Izmail who was hiding from mobilization. The FSB recruited him through Telegram channels with advertisements for “easy money.”
The main task of the person involved was to search for temporary deployment points of the Defense Forces, which the Russian side planned to attack from the air.
First of all, the man paid attention to buildings that could be used by servicemen of the National Guard and the Military Law Enforcement Service.
To collect data, he covertly walked around the area, photographed potential targets, marked them on Google Maps, and transmitted the information to the curator via messenger.
Later, Russian special services instructed him to set fire to one of the “discovered” objects. He did not have time to complete the task – SBU officers detained him.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized a mobile phone with evidence of correspondence and cooperation with FSB representatives.
SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post bail. The perpetrator faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
