Lawyer Golovan on the State Bureau of Investigation’s searches in Yuzhanina’s family: I have never seen such cynicism as to intimidate six-year-old children

At a briefing after the search of the children of Nina Yuzhanina, a member of parliament from the European Solidarity faction, lawyer Igor Golovan stated that he had never seen such cynicism in his practice.

“Today, the State Bureau of Investigation has gone so far as to intimidate children. In the morning, we arrived at the apartment of Nina Petrovna Yuzhanina’s son and grandchildren. There were three children there, older than 8, a middle 6, and a very small third. And the State Bureau of Investigation, a fairly large group, about eight people, decided to conduct an immediate search without a court order, justifying it, as they are now accustomed to, by “saving property.” This is absolute lawlessness and a violation of all moral rights,” Golovan was indignant.

“I will long remember this 6-year-old boy, whose birthday is today, who, looking at me, said, so what, there won’t be a birthday now? But the most cynicism, which took away absolutely all the money that they could find. And no explanations, no requests that it is a child’s birthday and they need to simply pay – this boy’s friends have already been invited, a children’s institution has been ordered to hold this holiday. These cynical monsters, who carry the IDs of the State Bureau of Investigation in their pockets, they did not condescend to this, they completely gutted and took away absolutely all the funds in the family,” the lawyer could not hold back his emotions.

“When the question was asked, why are you taking the money and how to feed three children, it was cynically said, let them ask their grandmother for help. That is, they showed openly that their main goal was not even to search this young family, but to direct this attack against the people’s deputy Yuzhanina. Why? Because Yuzhanina is a member of “European Solidarity” and one of the well-known, well-known figures of the opposition to the current government,” Golovan emphasized.

He also noted that, in a completely “tailor-made tradition,” the criminal case number could not be found either in the register of court decisions or among any official documents that are available online – but it was found in one of the anonymous Telegram channels that spread fakes against opposition deputies.

“It is also symbolic that this criminal case, within the framework of which this illegal search was allegedly carried out, was registered on February 12, that is, it was another gift to President Zelensky for the introduction of illegal sanctions against Petro Poroshenko. Everything was connected by time and common goals,” Igor Golovan states.

“We will do everything possible to ensure that the people who carried out this vile act this morning receive the punishment they deserve,” Golovan warned.
