Leaked data to the enemy for money: SBU detained a Russian agent in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed a Russian agent within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The soldier was mobilized into a strike drone company and was passing information to the FSB about the preparation of operations by the Defense Forces.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

According to the investigation, the spy informed Russian special services in advance about the time and direction of Ukrainian drone flights, as well as the approximate targets of the attacks. In addition, he transmitted data about the permanent deployment points and combat positions of his brigade.

The Russians used the information they received for preventive shelling of Ukrainian units with long-range artillery and aerial bombs.

The SBU found out that at the time of these attacks, the agent received warnings from FSB supervisors to leave the danger zone.

Security Service officers detained the attacker as he was preparing to hand over a new “portion” of intelligence to the enemy. At the same time, measures were taken to secure the locations of the Ukrainian defenders.

It was established that the detainee is a 26-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi. After mobilization, he began to seek contacts with Russian special services via Telegram, and was later recruited by the FSB. He was promised a monetary reward for his cooperation.

The spy is currently being held without bail. Investigators have charged him with treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which is committed under martial law. The suspect faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The detention took place as part of a special operation conducted by SBU officers in Kirovohrad region. The procedural management was carried out by the Kropyvnytsky Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region.

Previously, the Security Service exposed a Russian agent who turned out to be the commander of a platoon of unmanned aerial vehicles in one of the marine brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The day before, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an instructor major from one of the air brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , who turned out to be an agent of Russian intelligence. The suspect was preparing strikes on Ukrainian airfields where F-16, Mirage 2000 and Su-24 aircraft are based.

As a reminder, the SBU detained two Russian informants who were “leaking” information about the SOU positions near Sloviansk to the occupiers and spying on the echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
