Light Gun Production: British BAE Systems to Establish Production of Artillery Systems in Ukraine

The name of the Ukrainian partner has not yet been disclosed. According to the agreement, the company will receive from BAE Systems technical documentation and engineering support necessary for the manufacture of the first sample of the gun and its testing.

The company noted that the cooperation involves establishing the production of the L119 105 mm light artillery system, adapted for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Giles Ambrose, Director of Engineering, Technology and Strategy at BAE Systems Weapon Systems UK, the partnership will combine the British company’s many years of experience in the field of artillery with the Ukrainian side’s practical knowledge of modern combat needs. This will contribute to the development of Ukraine’s own defense-industrial potential.

The L119 is a lightweight mobile towed 105mm artillery system developed by BAE Systems, which is known for its high mobility and rapid deployment capability.

It was previously reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the conclusion of an agreement with the European Union that opens British defense companies access to contracts related to support for Ukraine.
