Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda is calling on countries that have joined the “coalition of the willing” to be ready to deploy their own forces to support Ukraine’s security. Lithuania has already expressed its readiness to join such efforts.

This is reported by LRT.

“We must be ready to deploy forces to ensure security in Ukraine as soon as appropriate conditions are created,” the Lithuanian head of state said. He specified that the country could provide its military personnel and resources, primarily for training the joint forces.

Nauseda also stressed the long-term consequences of Russian aggression, which has been undermining the security of all of Europe for four years. He stressed that peace agreements should only take place on terms that are beneficial to Ukraine and the European continent. Also unacceptable are negotiating demands that Ukraine give up its own territories.

“A comprehensive ceasefire without preconditions is the most important condition before any real negotiations can begin,” the Lithuanian president concluded.

Recall, Lithuania plans to facilitate the purchase of American long-range Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine, allocating up to 30 million euros for this.

As reported, the British military leadership has decided to abandon the idea of creating a 30,000-strong peacekeeping contingent to protect Ukrainian ports and cities . Instead, a more “realistic” strategy is being introduced – air patrols of western Ukraine, training Ukrainian defenders, and demining the Black Sea.
