Lithuanian authorities have decided to provide assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector and transfer approximately one hundred generators to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this.

According to the head of state, on January 25, during a visit to Lithuania, he discussed with President Gitanas Nausėda the issue of supporting Ukraine’s energy sustainability. Zelenskyy informed the Lithuanian leader of Ukraine’s current needs and thanked him for the decision to donate nearly 100 generators to Ukrainian communities.

In addition to energy, the presidents discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, support for the PURL initiative, cooperation within the SAFE program, the implementation of joint defense projects, and Lithuania’s proposal to open an arms export platform in Vilnius.

As a reminder, on the night of Tuesday, January 20, Russia launched another attack on Kyiv . An air raid alert was issued in the capital at 1:30 a.m. due to the threat of attack drones. Later, the Ukrainian Air Force warned Kyiv residents of a possible ballistic missile launch.

As reported, following the Russian night attack on Kyiv on January 20, which included the use of missiles and drones, more than 5,600 multi-story buildings were left without heat . Most of these—approximately 80%—were residential buildings where heat was recently restored following the shelling on January 9.
