Liverpool star Diogo Jota dies in car crash

Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota has died in a car accident in Spain. The accident occurred in the province of Zamora, when the car went off the road and caught fire. His brother Andre, a player for Penafiela, was in the car with him.

The press service of the football club ” Liverpool ” reported this.

The 112 emergency service quickly arrived at the scene, but they were unable to save the brothers. Eyewitnesses say that the flames instantly engulfed the car and surrounding vegetation.

Diogo was only 28 years old, his brother was 26. On June 22, 2025, Diogo got married. He also left behind three children. 

He was a star of European football, playing for Liverpool since 2020, winning numerous trophies and being an important part of the Portugal national team.
