The conditions set by US President Donald Trump for the introduction of new sanctions against Russia will likely remain unfulfilled.

This was reported in The New York Times.

To impose economic restrictions, Trump has demanded that NATO members stop buying Russian oil. However, two countries — Hungary and Turkey — whose leaders the American president admires are unlikely to stop imports.

At the same time, as The Washington Postreports , many have begun to call Trump indecisive and boastful because of his threats to punish Russia, which have never been carried out.

The lack of decisive US action emboldened Putin and accelerated efforts to destroy Ukraine and split NATO.

In particular, Trump significantly downplayed the seriousness of the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones, stating that it was a mistake.

“Putin is betting on European weakness, American disinterest, and simply constantly advancing his goals, which clearly go beyond Ukraine. Aggressive actions against Poland clearly show that his intentions reach further, and the only question is where he will draw the line,” former Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis is convinced.

Trump previously stated that he was ready to impose “serious sanctions” against Russia , but would only do so under certain conditions.

It is worth adding that Donald Trump has stated that his patience with Putin is quickly running out , and therefore he may deal a “strong blow” to Russia, which will include sanctions against banks and will affect oil and tariffs.

Recall that Donald Trump recently stated that he is ready to move to the second stage of sanctions against Russia for waging war in Ukraine.
