In Paris, on the morning of October 19, unknown assailants robbed the Louvre Museum, breaking into the Apollo Gallery, where jewelry exhibits are stored. According to the French Interior Ministry, the theft could have been carried out by an experienced group of foreigners.

The minister noted that the theft of the valuables was carried out by a “very experienced team” and expressed hope for the speedy arrest of the criminals and the return of the stolen exhibits.

According to the BMFTV channel, the attack occurred on the morning of October 19. A video released to the media shows a man in a yellow vest allegedly breaking into a display window in a gallery.

According to journalists, three or four people entered the museum from the Seine side, using a lift installed for renovation work. They then broke the glass and reached the room where the jewels were stored.

The robbers fled the scene of the robbery on scooters. After the incident, the museum was closed for the day due to “exceptional circumstances” and all visitors were evacuated. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining surveillance video and checking possible escape routes.

Earlier it became known that on the morning of October 19, a high-profile robbery took place in Paris – the attackers stole nine jewels from the Napoleonic collection. The incident closed the Louvre for the whole day. In a matter of minutes, they broke into the Apollo Gallery and stole several jewels from the French crown collection.
