Lukashenko pardons 15 convicts in Belarus, including political prisoners

The self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has pardoned 15 convicts. Among them are 13 people who were accused in Belarus of so-called “extremist” crimes.
This was reported on Lukashenko’s website.
Most of those pardoned are women. Ten out of 15.
The names of the people who were decided to be pardoned have not yet been announced.
Lukashenko’s website claims that they all requested pardon, admitted their guilt, and “repented.” The convicts also allegedly promised to continue leading a “righteous” lifestyle.
Among those pardoned are political prisoners who were convicted by the Belarusian authorities for so-called “crimes of an extremist nature.”
As a reminder, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with the US President’s special envoy for Belarus John Cole on September 15. The parties discussed relations between Minsk and Washington, political prisoners, and the return of frozen Belarusian funds.
