Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation on the night of October 2, 2026. Explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the facility.

This is reported by the General Staff.

It is noted that “Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka” is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. Its refining capacity is about 15 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise produces automobile gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, and is also involved in meeting the needs of the Russian armed forces.

In addition, in the area of the settlement of Prosvit, Samara Oblast, the Samara linear production control station was hit. A fire was also recorded on the territory of the facility.

It is known that the Samara Oil Refinery is a large oil receiving, storage and blending facility. Raw materials are supplied to the station via main oil pipelines from Tatarstan, Western Siberia and other oil-producing regions of the Russian Federation. The facility mixes high- and low-sulfur oil from various fields to form the Urals export grade, which accounts for up to 50% of the total volume of Russian oil exports. The station is also involved in meeting the needs of the Russian armed forces.

The Defense Forces noted that the destruction of such objects is Ukraine’s exercise of the right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and is aimed at reducing Russia’s military-economic potential.

In particular, the results of the lesions are being clarified.

“Work on the key military and infrastructure targets of the Russian aggressor continues,” the General Staff added.

It was previously reported that on September 30 and on the night of October 1, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Rubicon UAV storage facilities and the missile and artillery weapons depot of the Russian troops. The storage and training sites for strike drones and the UAV control point were also hit.
