Lured into shelter and tortured: police investigate child abuse

In the Odessa region, teenagers tortured an 11-year-old boy for several hours and filmed it. Police have opened an investigation into the fact of torture.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.

According to law enforcement, the boy was called out for a walk by his classmate. The girl led him to a shelter in one of the settlements of the Nerubaysk community, where several teenagers were already waiting.

There, a 13-year-old boy, who had previously been in conflict with a younger boy, began to beat and choke him. He also forced the child to kneel and apologize.

The bullying lasted for several hours, during which time other teenagers watched and filmed everything.

An 11-year-old boy was injured in the beating. According to police, he did not immediately tell his parents about the incident because the perpetrator threatened him.

Law enforcement officers classified the incident as torture. Investigators entered the information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Police are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the role of each of the teenagers. Torture is punishable by imprisonment by law.
