Lured under the pretext of buying a car: in the Kirovohrad region, a repeat offender brutally killed a soldier

In Kirovohrad region, police have detained a 50-year-old man suspected of murdering a Ukrainian serviceman. The body of the serviceman with a gunshot wound was found in a forest strip on the border of two regions.
This was announced by Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Andriy Nebytov.
According to law enforcement, the soldier’s mother contacted law enforcement after her son went to buy a used VAZ car and stopped contacting them. After the relatives contacted them, police began a search.
The body of a man with a gunshot wound was found in a forest strip on the border of Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions. Investigators and operatives arrived at the scene and established the preliminary circumstances of the crime.
Law enforcement officers found out that the suspect lured a serviceman under the pretext of selling a car. According to the investigation, the man shot the serviceman for selfish motives. Criminal investigation officers of the Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions detained the suspect within 24 hours.
As Andriy Nebytov noted, the 50-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region has previously been convicted. In 2017, he was brought to criminal responsibility for illegal possession of weapons. At that time, he carried a pistol for the purpose, as he claimed, of self-defense, but later used it for robbery and murder.
The suspect was detained and taken to the investigative authorities for further procedural actions.
