Lutsk Mayor Igor Polischuk has resigned.

Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polischuk resigned early from his post. The decision was supported by city council members during their session.

Polischuk himself stated that his resignation was not related to the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine or the audit. He said he did not consider it necessary to disclose the reasons for this move.

Meanwhile, in December 2025, NABU detectives conducted searches of the official’s home and workplace. The mayor confirmed the investigation but declined to comment on the reasons for it, citing investigative confidentiality.

Searches were also conducted in the office of Volyn Regional Council Chairman Hryhoriy Nedopad . Law enforcement officials subsequently served notices of suspicion to several members of the Volyn Regional and Lutsk City Councils for allegedly accepting a $30,000 bribe.

According to media reports, the land in question is a plot of land in Lutsk, home to the “Snezhnaya Koroleva” ice arena. Previously, deputies approved a detailed site plan, which envisages the construction of a multi-story residential complex on the site.
