Lviv region schoolchildren will be able to participate in a new educational project with support from Taiwan.

Schools in the Lviv region will be able to join the next stage of the Ukrainian-Taiwanese educational project “Leave No One Behind Partnership.” In July, organizers will announce the selection of educational institutions that will receive modern equipment and participate in a digital skills and leadership development program for schoolchildren.

The new phase of the project will last 10 months. It includes leadership and tolerance camps, as well as the digitalization of educational institutions in the Lviv and Kyiv regions.

To implement the initiative, on July 6, representatives of Taiwan and the public organization All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum signed a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement on charitable assistance.

The project is being implemented by the All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum, a non-governmental organization, with the support of Taiwan and the assistance of Ukrainian MP Mykola Kniazhytskyi. “Taiwan and Ukraine are closely connected, as we are working together to respond to authoritarian states. We share common values, and that’s why we stand with Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Taiwan has provided over $120 million in humanitarian aid. We want to ensure that even in these difficult times, no Ukrainian child is left behind,” noted Jeff Liu, Head of the Taipei Mission to Poland.

According to Iryna Handzyuk, Chair of the Board of the All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum, the project is being expanded in new directions this year.

“We complement the entrepreneurship component with leadership and tolerance camps. We want children to not only acquire digital skills but also learn to work in a team and be leaders,” she said.

This is the second stage of cooperation between Ukraine and Taiwan in school education. Last year, Taiwan donated $1 million in charitable aid for computerization of Ukrainian schools and STEM education.

According to project manager Ulyana Pak, thanks to the previous stage, 96 schools with over 65,000 students received new equipment for their computer science classrooms and robotics labs. Thirty-three computer science teachers were trained, and high school students from 72 schools participated in programs on entrepreneurship, teamwork, and startup creation.

The participants themselves speak about the project’s results. Computer science teacher Andriy Chetverikov from Bryukhovychi School No. 41 said that after the camp, the students began to approach their studies and work with technology differently. And Nazar Soroka, a computer science and robotics teacher at Lviv School No. 49, noted that the project provided the teachers not only with new knowledge but also with a professional community, which they pass on to their students.

Taiwan also previously donated equipment worth nearly 3 million hryvnias to the Lviv Grono Lyceum. According to Director Natalia Somik, the laptops, tablets, and robotics kits significantly expanded students’ learning opportunities.

The organizers promise to publish details of the new selection process for schools in the Lviv region soon on the All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum page and on the Leave No One Behind Partnership project pages on Facebook and Instagram .
