The Lviv Regional Council called for the immediate start of the reconstruction of the Roman Shukhevych Museum, which was destroyed by a Russian missile, and to restore it to its authentic form.

This was reported by the Fourth Studio with reference to the Lviv Regional Council.

The appeal notes that two years have passed since the museum was destroyed, but no real work has begun. Instead, the process is limited to competitions, discussions, and concepts, while the ruins themselves remain without proper protection.

On March 5, the Lviv region community will honor the memory of Roman Shukhevych for the third year in a row at the site of the destroyed museum – where he fought his last battle. The regional council emphasizes that further delay in reconstruction will harm national memory no less than enemy shelling.

Deputies of the European Solidarity faction emphasize that the Shukhevych Museum is not just a building. It is the only place of his national honor, because the UPA general-in-chief does not have a grave. That is why, according to them, any attempts to change the historical appearance of the museum are unacceptable.

The regional council also recalled that immediately after the destruction of the museum, the Poroshenko Foundation offered specific assistance – bank guarantees for 4 million hryvnias for the rapid start of reconstruction. At the same time, the restoration process, according to the deputies, was actually blocked due to the delay in decisions.

The Lviv Regional Council called on the city authorities to stop political games, unite around the preservation of historical memory, and immediately proceed to real work on rebuilding the museum.

The appeal emphasizes that the memory of Roman Shukhevych should unite society in times of war, and not become the subject of political disputes.

As previously reported, the Lviv organization of the European Solidarity party announced an imitation of the process of rebuilding the Roman Shukhevych Museum in Lviv, which has been in ruins for two years after Russian shelling.

As a reminder, the Petro Poroshenko Foundation stated that Lviv is delaying the process of rebuilding the museum of the UPA General-Coroner Roman Shukhevych.
