Lviv’s Eurosolidarity calls for an end to the imitation surrounding the reconstruction of the Shukhevych Museum, which has been in ruins for two years

The Lviv organization of the European Solidarity party announced an imitation of the reconstruction process of the Roman Shukhevych Museum in Lviv, which has been in ruins for two years after Russian shelling.

This is reported by “European Solidarity”.

MP Oleh Synyutka showed the current condition of the destroyed building and emphasized that the local authorities did not allow the Poroshenko Foundation to restore the museum, but at the same time did not begin any real work themselves.

The party recalls that immediately after the shelling, the Poroshenko Foundation offered financial assistance and provided a letter of guarantee for 4 million hryvnias for the rapid reconstruction of the monument. However, the city authorities, despite the community’s position, refused this offer and instead announced a collection of funds from residents.

The museum building is the former underground headquarters of the OUN, where Roman Shukhevych hid in the last years of his life and where he was killed by Soviet special services in 1950. March 5, 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of his death.

The idea of restoring the museum in its authentic form was supported by participants in a public meeting on January 17, 2024 in Lviv. Among them were Shukhevych’s daughter Maria Trylovska, representatives of veteran and public organizations, people’s deputies, and deputies of local councils.

European Solidarity emphasizes that the museum is not just a building, but a symbol of Ukrainian national memory and the struggle for freedom. The party’s statement notes that in two years, society has not seen the real beginning of reconstruction, instead, statements, competitions, and concepts continue without results.

The party demands to immediately begin the restoration of the museum, to recreate the building in its authentic 1950 form, and to stop political manipulation. People’s Deputy Sofya Fedyna stated that every day without a restored museum is a disrespect for memory and for those who fight for Ukraine.

It was previously reported that the Petro Poroshenko Foundation stated that Lviv is delaying the process of rebuilding the museum of UPA General-Coroner Roman Shukhevych.

We will remind you that the fifth president and leader of “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko shared photos of the destroyed Shukhevych Museum in Lviv on social networks.
