Lyudmila Yanukovych died in Russia: journalists found unusual evidence

The ex-wife of fugitive ex-president Viktor Yanukovych, Lyudmila, likely died in Russia back in June.

This was reported by Toronto Television, which conducted its own investigation.

Journalists found the phone number that Lyudmila Yanukovych used to log in to the Russian portal “Gosuslugi”. According to them, since June 19, 2026, this number has been marked in the registry as belonging to a deceased person.

“We found the phone number that Lyudmila Yanukovych used on the Russian portal Gosuslugi. Since June 19, 2026, it has been listed in the registry as the number of a deceased person, so it is possible that Lyudmila is no longer there. But we have not yet found any more confirmation of her death,” the journalists said.

There has been no official confirmation of the death of 76-year-old Lyudmila Yanukovych. There have also been no public statements from her family or representatives of Viktor Yanukovych.

This is not the first time such information has appeared. In 2022, social networks and the media already reported on the alleged death of Lyudmila Yanukovych.

Then Viktor Yanukovych’s press secretary denied these reports, calling them false.

Viktor Yanukovych himself is in Russia after fleeing Ukraine. In 2019, a Ukrainian court found him guilty of treason and sentenced him to 13 years in prison.
