Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife have been charged with conspiracy for the “purpose of narcoterrorism” and the “importation of cocaine.”
US Attorney General Pamela Bondi wrote about this on the social network X.
According to her, Maduro is charged with conspiracy to commit narcoterrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine into the United States, and illegal possession of automatic weapons and destructive devices. In addition, there is a conspiracy to use such weapons against the United States.
“They will soon feel the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts. On behalf of the entire US Department of Justice, I want to thank President Trump for having the courage to demand accountability on behalf of the American people, and also express my immense gratitude to our brave military personnel who conducted an incredible and extremely successful operation to apprehend these two suspected international drug traffickers,” she wrote.
Previously, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said that Nicolas Maduro would face justice “for his crimes.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Nicolas Maduro and his wife had been captured and taken out of Venezuela.
