Magnetic storms will return: on which days in October should you be more careful?

Several periods of increased geomagnetic activity are expected on Earth in early and mid-October 2026. The strongest magnetic storm is predicted for October 22 — the Kp index may rise to 5.
This is stated in the forecast of the US Space Weather Prediction Center (NOAA SWPC).
The first noticeable changes are expected on October 4–6 , when the Kp index will increase to 4. On October 7–8, activity will decrease to 3, and from October 9 to 20, a mostly calm geomagnetic situation is predicted with Kp at 2–3.
On October 21, activity will increase again to Kp 4. The next day, a G1 level magnetic storm with a Kp index of 5 is forecast.
On October 23–24, geomagnetic activity should gradually decrease to Kp 4.
According to NOAA’s forecast, October 22 will be the most turbulent day of the month in terms of geomagnetic activity.
