Man throws two grenades at police in Dnipropetrovsk region
In the village of Mykolaivka, Synelnyk district, Dnipropetrovsk region, a man threw two grenades at police officers during an attempted arrest. Five law enforcement officers were injured as a result of the explosion.
This was reported by the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to law enforcement, on April 21 at 06:30, the police received an anonymous report about the inappropriate behavior of a local resident who was in a state of severe alcohol intoxication and claimed to have two grenades with him.
Police arrived at the scene and began negotiations with the man. During the conversation, he also stated that he had turned on the gas supply in the house, which created a threat of explosion and danger to residents of neighboring houses.
As the police noted, in order to prevent escalation, law enforcement officers began making arrests. At that moment, the man threw two explosive devices at them – one of them did not go off, the other exploded.

As a result of the explosion, five police officers received shrapnel wounds of varying severity and were hospitalized. Despite their injuries, they managed to detain a man born in 1991.
Grenade fragments and a fuse were recovered at the scene. Investigators, explosives technicians, and other specialized services are currently working there to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
