In Chernihiv region, mandatory evacuation of residents from 14 settlements located near the state border is being introduced. The evacuation of people is planned to be completed within the next 30 days.

This was reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus.

According to him, the relevant decision was made at a meeting of the regional Defense Council.

These are villages that are part of the Novgorod-Siverska, Semenivska, Snovska and Gorodnyanska communities. The head of the OVA noted that the border areas are under constant shelling, but despite the danger, about 300 residents still remain there.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 1,400 people have already left the border areas. The evacuation is being coordinated by the regional and district administrations together with the communities. According to Chaus, the need for mandatory evacuation was initiated by the military due to the security situation.

Residents of designated villages will be informed in advance about the collection points. All relevant services are involved in the process, special routes and transport have been prepared. The placement of evacuees in temporary accommodation is also guaranteed.
