Many kilometers of traffic jams formed on the Crimean Bridge: what is known

Queues at the Crimean Bridge after the night air raid and explosions in Kerch reached about 2,800 cars. On the night of June 25-26, Russia closed the crossing across the Kerch Strait — the Crimean Bridge — from 11:50 p.m. to 6:14 a.m.

This was reported by the Telegram channel of operational information about the situation on the bridge and Radio Liberty’s “Schemes”.

In addition, Serhiy Sternenko, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on increasing the effectiveness of the use of UAVs at the front, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the locations of Russian air defense systems and airfields.

Explosions were also reported in the temporarily occupied areas of Kerch, Yana Kapu (Krasnoperekopsk), Perekop and Yevpatoria districts. According to satellite images, a fire broke out in Kerch at a former airfield where the Russian military had deployed air defense facilities.

The traffic jams start from the checkpoint in front of the bridge and extend to the area of the village of Ivanivka, Kerch district. Their length exceeds 10 kilometers, which corresponds to approximately 1,500 cars in one direction. In total, about 2,800 cars are in queue.

Traffic across the Crimean Bridge is known to be suspended due to missile threats, Russian air defenses, or the threat of attacks by Ukrainian naval drones. The situation is also affected by the fuel crisis, power outages, and increased checks at checkpoints.

In particular, the occupying authorities of Crimea have tightened control over checkpoints, which regularly paralyzes both civilian and military logistics between the peninsula and Russia.

It was previously reported that on the night of June 26, drones attacked several facilities in Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea . The Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, Tula region, was hit, as well as the Kerch district, where local residents reported a series of explosions and the operation of air defense. The NASA FIRMS service also recorded a fire in the area of the deployment of Pantsir-S1 air defense systems and the airfield.
