Marta Kostyuk has retired from the 2026 Roland Garros tournament.

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk failed to reach the final of Roland Garros 2026 , losing to “neutral” tennis player Mirra Andreeva in the semi-final match.

The match ended with Andreeva winning in straight sets, 6:1, 6:3. The opponents had met twice before, and the Ukrainian had won both matches.
Despite the defeat, the Paris tournament was historic for Kostyuk. She became the first Ukrainian tennis player to reach the Roland Garros semifinals.
A successful performance at the French Major continued the athlete’s successful clay court season. Since the start of the clay court season, Kostyuk has won 17 consecutive tournaments and won the biggest title of her career – the Madrid Open , where she also defeated Andreeva in the final.
By reaching the Grand Slam semifinals, the Ukrainian will rise to the highest position of her career in the WTA rankings. Currently, she is ranked 12th in the world.
