The Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days. The corresponding decision was made at a parliamentary session on Tuesday, July 14.
This became known from the broadcast of the parliament session.
Thus, martial law and mobilization in Ukraine will be in effect until at least October 31, 2026. This is the twentieth extension of these regimes since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Before the vote, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted relevant draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada, which were supported by the people’s deputies.
During martial law, conscripted men aged 18 to 60 must be registered with the military, update their data in a timely manner, carry military registration documents with them, and report to territorial recruitment centers upon summons. They must also undergo a military medical examination in cases specified by law.
Mandatory mobilization is for men aged 25 to 60 who are fit for service and have no legal grounds for deferment. Before being sent to military units, those mobilized undergo basic training in training centers.
Men between the ages of 18 and 25 may be mobilized only in certain cases specified by law. In other situations, they may join the army voluntarily under a contract.
Women who are registered for military service can only serve voluntarily.
