Mass poisoning of children in a camp in Lviv region

In the Stryi district of the Lviv region, 24 children were hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of acute intestinal infection.

The National Police Communications Department reported this.

According to the police, a report of poisoning was received on August 4 at around 10:20 p.m. from the parents of children who were at a private children’s camp located in one of the villages in the region.

Children aged 7 to 17 from different regions of Ukraine were delivered to medical institutions

Police investigators opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for violation of sanitary rules and regulations for the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings

The penalty under the article provides for a fine of one thousand to three thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or arrest for up to six months or restriction of freedom for up to three years or imprisonment for the same term.

The police are conducting a pre-trial investigation and are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
