Massive attack on Kyiv: how trains and Kyiv City Express operate

During the massive attack on Kyiv, Ukrzaliznytsia did not stop passenger train traffic. At the same time, some flights are delayed, with trains from the central part of Ukraine, Zaporizhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions lagging the most behind schedule.

During the air raid alert at the Central Station and Darnytsia Station, passengers boarded and disembarked trains through underpasses. This procedure is in effect during a yellow air threat level, when air targets are detected near the stations.

Kyiv’s railway stations were not damaged as a result of the attack.

At the same time, the attack has affected the train schedule. The biggest delays are experienced by trains traveling from central Ukraine, Zaporizhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Kyiv City Express trains continue to run in a full circle, but are delayed by 10-30 minutes.

After the air raid warning is over, the railway returns to its standard operating mode. Ukrzaliznytsia urged passengers to stay in shelters during subsequent warnings.

If a passenger misses their flight due to an air traffic alert, they will be able to use the same ticket and continue their journey on another train.
