Massive attack on Odessa region: drones damaged energy facility
On the night of December 2, the south of the Odessa region was subjected to a massive attack by Russian drones, targeting energy and civilian facilities.
This was reported by the head of the Odessa Oblast Administrative Organization, Oleg Kiper.
According to the OVA, an energy facility, an administrative building, and private households were hit. As a result of the hits, a fire broke out at the energy infrastructure facility, which was extinguished by rescuers together with volunteers.
The attack left thousands of people without electricity: according to DTEK, 8,000 families were able to be reconnected using backup schemes, while another 36,300 remain temporarily without power.
The city headquarters for the elimination of consequences is working on site, critical infrastructure is provided with generators, and 11 invincibility points have been deployed to support the population. 3 units of equipment and 15 rescuers of the State Emergency Service, as well as local fire brigades of 2 units of equipment and 5 rescuers, were involved in extinguishing the fire.
There is currently no information about deaths or injuries. Energy workers are working in an intensive mode to restore power supply as soon as possible.
As reported, on the night of December 2, starting at 18:00 on December 1, Ukrainian airspace was attacked by 62 enemy strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones . More than 35 of them were “Shaheeds”. The attacks were carried out from the following directions: Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation), Chauda (TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) and Donetsk.
By the way, on Monday, December 1, Russian occupation forces struck a multi-story building in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast.
