Massive shelling of Kyiv on June 17: death toll rises to 15, body recovered from rubble

The death toll in Kyiv from the Russian attack on June 17 has risen to 15. The body of a man has been recovered from the rubble of a destroyed house in the Solomianskyi district.

This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.

“At the moment, it is difficult to say the real number of people who may be under the rubble. We have just found a person, unfortunately, deceased. The body has been unblocked. We are talking about the fact that there may be from 4 to 14 people here, since this is the number that lived here and cannot be contacted,” the head of the KMVA noted.

Tkachenko also said that after the people are released and the rubble is cleared, the fate of the damaged house will be decided. In his opinion, this house cannot be restored, so a decision will be made about construction.

In addition, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that currently 139 people are known to have been injured as a result of enemy attacks throughout Ukraine on the night of June 17.

As of this moment, 15 people are known to have died and 105 injured as a result of the attack.

More than 450 rescuers, more than 100 pieces of State Emergency Service equipment, as well as dog teams are involved in the elimination of the consequences of the missile strike. Doctors, police officers, and psychologists are working at the scene.

Law enforcement officers and forensic experts are working to identify the deceased.

As a reminder, on the night of Tuesday, June 17, the Russian occupation army launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv. The attack killed 14 people and injured more than 50 others.

As reported, as a result of the massive combined attack that the Russians launched on Kyiv on the night of June 17, the number of victims increased to 60 people.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that Russian troops used cluster missiles to strike Kyiv on June 17. In particular, they were found in Nivki.
