Massive strike on Ukraine: air defense forces neutralize 428 air targets

On the night of June 17 (from 20:00 on June 16), the enemy attacked with 472 air attack weapons. Air defense forces neutralized 428 air targets.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

• 440 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of drone imitators in the following directions: Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation, about 280 of which are “shaheds”;
• 2 aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 “Dagger” from the airspace of Tambov region – Russian Federation;
• 16 X-101 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft into the airspace of the Saratov region – Russian Federation;
• 4 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
• 9 guided air missiles Kh-59/69 from tactical aircraft from the airspace of the Belgorod and Bryansk regions;
• 1 anti-radar missile Kh-31P.

“The main direction of the attack is the city of Kyiv,” the air force noted.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 10:00, air defense forces have neutralized 428 enemy air attack weapons, 262 have been shot down by fire weapons, and 166 have been lost in location.

• 239 hostile Shahed-type UAVs (drones of other types) were shot down by fire, 163 were lost in location/suppressed by electronic warfare;
• 2 aeroballistic X-47 M2 “Dagger” (1 – lock. vtr.);
• 15 X-101 cruise missiles;
• 8 guided aircraft missiles Kh-59/69 (1 – local. vtr.);
• 1 anti-radar missile Kh-31P (local air defense).

Enemy air strikes were recorded in 10 locations, and downed aircraft (debris) fell in 34 locations.

Let us recall that on the night of Tuesday, June 17, the Russian occupation army launched a massive combined attack on Kiev. As a result of the attack, 14 people were killed and more than 50 were injured.
