In Mykolaiv, on March 27, a McDonald’s restaurant resumed operations, which had been closed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022. The establishment is again welcoming visitors after a break of several years.
This was reported by McDonald’s Ukraine.
The restaurant is located on Pavla Skoropadsky Street, where it has resumed serving customers after the reopening. The company confirmed the reopening with a corresponding message.
“Mykolaiv, we have been waiting for this meeting. And finally we can say: your favorite potato is here again. We are open. We are waiting for you at 43 Pavla Skoropadsky St.,” the message says.
It is worth adding that at around 11 a.m. it became known that the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaly Kim, and the city mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, visited the facility.
As noted, the facility has not been operational since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022. Restoration became possible after resolving problems, including water supply.
According to Yulia Badritdinova, CEO of McDonald’s in Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the opening was postponed due to the difficult situation after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
“After the construction of a new water supply system and stable results of all water quality tests, we can finally work again in Mykolaiv,” she said.
She also noted that the opening is important not only for business, but also for the city.
“For us, this is not just opening a restaurant — it’s bringing back business, jobs, and a sense of normalcy to the city,” Badritdinova added.
The establishment is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and the McDrive service is available from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. A mobile ordering feature is also available via the app.
The restaurant has created over 100 jobs. The restaurant will operate with a limited menu in the first weeks of operation, with delivery expected to begin in about 2 weeks.
During an air raid, the restaurant temporarily closes so that patrons can go to shelter.
