Media: Zelensky explained why he decided to replace Fedorov

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave several reasons why he did not support the possible appointment of Mykhailo Fedorov to the position of Minister of Defense.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a source in the Servant of the People faction.
According to the publication’s interlocutor, during a party meeting, Zelensky stated that Mykhailo Fedorov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky have different views on waging war.
In addition, according to the source, the president expressed complaints about Fedorov and the ministry’s approaches to defense procurement.
“The president said that Fedorov and the ministry made purchases at their own discretion, and not as requested by the General Staff and the military. This, in particular, concerned the purchase of artillery shells,” the source noted.
It is known that on July 15, two meetings of the Servant of the People faction were held, during which deputies discussed the future composition of the Cabinet of Ministers. According to media reports, one of the key issues remained the appointment of a new Minister of Defense.
Previously, there were reports of various candidates for this position, in particular, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, as well as the possibility of retaining the ministerial portfolio under Mykhailo Fedorov.
