Medvedev threatens to strike Ukraine and the EU with nuclear weapons

On the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev once again threatened to use nuclear weapons against Kyiv and European countries.

On the morning of February 24, Russian agencies began circulating a statement from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service about the alleged preparation by Great Britain and France to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine. The reports claimed that the transfer could be disguised as Kyiv’s own development.

The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, called this information potentially extremely dangerous and stated that the Kremlin would take it into account during the negotiations.

Medvedev went further and stated that in the event of such a development of events, Russia would use any, including non-strategic nuclear weapons, against targets in Ukraine.

He also threatened strikes against supplier countries, which he said could become complicit in a nuclear conflict with Russia.
