On Tuesday, December 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a number of new statements while talking to journalists.
In particular, he spoke about the process of negotiations with the United States on the settlement of the war. The President assured that Russia had not managed to disrupt them, and the dialogue with American partners continues every day.
According to him, the first documents regarding the peace plan will be ready for signing in January.
Zelensky explained what security guarantees should be: along with the ceasefire, there should be a monitoring mission and clauses on the partners’ response in the event of a violation of the agreements.
He added that Ukraine has discussed with the United States the possibility of deploying American troops, which he believes would be a strong security guarantee. However, only Donald Trump can confirm intentions in this regard.
The Head of State informed that he discussed with the American president a plan for Ukraine’s economic recovery, which includes raising salaries and creating new jobs.
Separately, the president reaffirmed that he is ready for any format of meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Among other things, Zelenskyy commented on the occupiers’ attacks on the Odessa region. He emphasized that the Russians want to cut off the region from the rest of Ukraine.
