MiG-29 pilot Marat Mambetov died at the front: his plane was shot down by an enemy missile

Today, October 1, 2026, a Ukrainian military pilot, Captain Marat Mambetov, was killed while performing a combat mission. He was flying a MiG-29 fighter jet and delivering missile and bomb strikes against the Russian occupiers.
This was reported by the Air Force.
While performing a combat mission on one of the front lines, a Ukrainian defender’s plane was shot down by an enemy missile. The pilot ejected, but did not survive.
Captain Marat Redvanovich Mambetov was the unit commander of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade “Ghost of Kyiv”.
“He defended Ukraine until his last breath,” the brigade noted.
The servicemen expressed their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased defender.
