In South Korea, an AH-1S Cobra military helicopter crashed in Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, on February 9. The accident killed 2 servicemen on board.

According to the military, the helicopter of the 15th Aviation Group of the South Korean army crashed at 11:04 after taking off for a training flight that began at 09:45.
Two warrant officers on board were taken to hospitals in cardiac arrest, but they could not be saved.
Authorities said there was no fire or explosion in the crash. The exact cause of the helicopter crash is still under investigation.
It is noted that the flight was conducted as part of exercises aimed at practicing emergency landing procedures for crew members.
After the crash, the South Korean army suspended all flights of AH-1S helicopters and created a special commission to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-baek, who is visiting Saudi Arabia, was informed of the incident and instructed to ensure a prompt response to the situation.
