Military personnel will be able to receive up to seven million hryvnias per contract: details of the initiative

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is preparing changes to the system of financial support for the military. The new bill provides for record payments for signing a contract for military service.

This was reported by a senior lieutenant of the Defense Forces of Ukraine with the call sign “Alex”.

According to the initiative, the size of the lump sum payments will depend on the term of the contract, from one to ten years. A phased accrual system is being introduced, which includes both an initial fee and monthly payments.

Payment amounts:

• A 1-year contract is 530 thousand hryvnias . The serviceman will receive 50 thousand hryvnias immediately after signing and 40 thousand hryvnias each month for a year.
• The contract is for 2 years — 1 million 160 thousand hryvnias . 100 thousand hryvnias will be paid immediately, another 100 thousand hryvnias at the beginning of the second year of service, plus 40 thousand hryvnias per month.
• The contract is for 3 years – 1 million 890 thousand hryvnias . The initial payment will be 150 thousand hryvnias , the same amount is provided for at the beginning of the second and third years, as well as 40 thousand hryvnias each month.
• The contract is for 4 years – 2 million 720 thousand hryvnias . After signing the contract, the serviceman will receive 200 thousand hryvnias , then 200 thousand hryvnias each year, plus 40 thousand hryvnias monthly.
• The contract is for 5 years – 3 million 650 thousand hryvnias . 250 thousand hryvnias will be paid immediately, then 250 thousand hryvnias each year, as well as 40 thousand hryvnias monthly.
• The contract is for 10 years — 7 million 300 thousand hryvnias . The serviceman will receive 250 thousand hryvnias immediately after signing, the rest of the amount will be paid over ten years of service.

As stated in the bill, the payments will apply to military personnel who enter into a contract to serve on assignment and perform official duties.

The document is currently at the approval stage. The final decision will be made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine after consideration and possible amendments.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that provides for monthly payments of 50 thousand hryvnias for servicemen released from Russian captivity and those undergoing rehabilitation.

By the way, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has revised the procedure for assigning and paying one-time cash assistance to the families of deceased servicemen . The changes are designed to provide the families of deceased defenders not only with urgent support, but also with stable funding for many years.

Earlier, MP Ruslan Gorbenko reported that Ukraine is preparing an important reform – salaries for military personnel who are not on the front lines may increase significantly . The authorities are already working on new pay standards that will bring them closer to the level of NATO countries.
