Military spending and budget support: where will 90 billion euros from the EU go?

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak revealed details regarding the distribution of funds received from the European Union.

The European Union has planned to transfer a total of 90 billion euros to Ukraine for 2026-2027. It is expected that the money will begin to be disbursed in the second quarter of this year.
The main financing mechanism will be the Ukraine Facility.
In particular, all funds received will be distributed into two categories – 60 billion euros for military spending, and the rest will be directed to budget support.
However, according to Zheleznyak, the amount planned to support the state budget will not cover all needs for next year.
“Therefore, we need to save money and look for additional sources,” the MP added.
Earlier, European Union leaders reached an agreement on large-scale financial support for Ukraine in 2026–2027. This is a package worth 90 billion euros, the decision on which was approved unanimously.
