The Kraken special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has officially announced that the number of eliminated Russian occupiers has reached a symbolic one million.

This was reported by the press service of the GUR.

It is noted that the symbolic millionth target of Ukrainian soldiers was Russian marine Sergei Mashanenkov, born in 1978, a native of Russia’s Kamchatka Territory.

This was stated in a video message published on June 12. According to reports, Kraken fighters eliminated Mashanenkov on June 11, 2025, during a combat engagement.

“Today, not just one or two invaders were eliminated along the entire front line. Thanks to the coordinated actions of all units of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces, enemy losses have become massive and systemic,” the unit’s statement reads.

Mashanenkov’s name has come to symbolize the total failure of Russia’s invasion strategy, marking the milestone of one million Russian military casualties. His service in the Russian Pacific Marine Corps did not save him from Ukrainian fire.

Ukrainian intelligence officers also emphasized that enemy losses continue to mount daily, and the coordinated actions of the Defense Forces are accelerating the pace of eliminating occupiers.

As a reminder, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already destroyed over one million Russian occupiers, including the dead and wounded.

As reported, the enemy’s losses in manpower during the day reached 1,140 people.

Moreover, despite the huge losses, Russian advances remain extremely slow — an average of 50 meters per day, which is many times slower than in any other conflict involving Russia. In three years of full-scale invasion, Russia has occupied only 5,000 square kilometers, which CSIS calls a “meager result.”
