Mindić did not appear in court: the Supreme Court of Justice made a decision

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court considered the complaint of the defense of businessman Timur Mindich and did not cancel the suspicion that had been announced to him earlier.
This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Center.
During the hearing, the lawyer asked to allow Mindich to join online. He explained his client’s absence by saying that there are security risks due to shelling in Ukraine, and called the case politically motivated. According to the defense attorney, Mindich is ready to come to court when there is no threat to his life and health.
The court denied this request. Among the reasons were that Mindić is wanted, there is no evidence that he cannot appear in person, and it is impossible to properly identify him during the video call.
As a result, the judges also did not satisfy the appeal itself and left in force the previous decision of the Supreme Court of Justice refusing to cancel the suspicion.
The decision was made by a panel of judges consisting of Serhiy Bodnar, Daniyla Chornenko, and Igor Panaid.
