Lawyers are examining the possibility of revoking Ukrainian citizenship for businessman Timur Mindich, who is suspected of corruption at Energoatom.

This was reported by the RBC-Ukraine news agency, citing sources.

Experts are currently assessing the potential consequences of revoking Mindich’s citizenship, including whether it could affect procedural actions, the ongoing investigation, or legal proceedings against him.

At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is awaiting the experts’ assessment. It is noted that he will make a decision only after reviewing their opinion.

“So that no one doubts that deprivation of citizenship will not shield him from trial,” the interlocutor added.

Earlier, Zelenskyy imposed NSDC sanctions against the co-owner of Kvartal-95, Timur Mindich and businessman Oleksandr Zukerman, who are linked to a corruption case in the energy sector.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation “Midas” to expose corruption in the energy sector. According to the investigation, the activities of a high-level criminal organization were established, which controlled financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures.

By the way, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have reported suspicions against seven individuals involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at JSC NNEGC Energoatom.

As reported, journalists from “Schemes” identified the names of individuals whom NABU detectives have flagged as suspicious within the framework of the investigation into corruption in the energy sector, among those involved in the case is Timur Mindich.
