Mine exploded on Odessa beach, there is a victim
On August 10, at about 11:30 a.m., a mine exploded between the villages of Zatoka and Karolino-Bugaz, killing a man.
Dumskaya reports this.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred in the sea about 50 meters from the shore. At that moment, there was a non-surviving victim in the water.
The police reported that law enforcement officers are already working at the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy. They promise to make the details of the incident public later.
The regional administration reminds that the beaches in Zatoka are officially closed and are not included in the list of permitted recreation areas. Despite this, the city continues to accept tourists. Currently, only two official swimming spots are open in the region – the central city Chernomorsky beach and the beach in the village of Primorskoye in the Izmail district.
The military has officially commented on the mine explosion that occurred in the Odessa region.
According to them, the tragedy was the result of people ignoring established safety rules and swimming in a recreational area where explosive devices exploded. This incident, the military command emphasizes, once again proves the extreme danger of being in unchecked waters.
As of July 2025, there are officially 32 safe swimming zones in the region: 30 of them are located in Odessa, one more in Chornomorsk and one in the village of Primorskoye in the Izmail district. All of them have undergone a comprehensive inspection, including the presence of shelters and the absence of mine hazard both on the shore and in the water.
The command of the operational-tactical group “Odessa” once again called on citizens to visit and rest only in officially open areas. Ignoring basic safety rules and visiting closed or unchecked areas creates a direct threat to life and health and can have irreparable consequences.
