Blame on the Front, Rewards at Home: How the Government Shifts Responsibility to the Military

I am one of those who regularly attend the courts where warlord generals face illegal trials. Unfortunately, instead of delivering justice, Ukrainian courts are increasingly turning into platforms for manipulation and “problem-solving” with wads of cash.
We are witnessing an attempt to shift responsibility for the loss of territories from the government onto the military.
This is not only unfair — it is dangerous for the future of our state.
The TSC on Fortifications, of which I am a member, inspected the Kharkiv direction. The results are shocking: more than 20 planned military strongholds and defensive structures were never built in this area.
The responsibility for this lies with the military administrations, which are part of the vertical of the Office of the President.
But instead of investigating the inaction of civilian leaders, the courts collude with them — shifting the blame onto those who defend the country on the front lines. We cannot remain silent. The truth must be heard.
Regarding the 2026 budget: losses at the front, gains in repression.
Expenditures for equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine (weapons, ammunition, equipment, fuel) in 2026 are ten times lower than in 2025.
This is not about salaries — it is about what is necessary to fight the enemy. This means:
– fewer weapons,
– fewer drones,
– less armor,
– lower chances of success on the front.
Meanwhile, funding for the State Intelligence Service has increased by 23% — a body that, instead of combating criminals, focuses on exerting pressure on the military, volunteers, and local governments.
In addition, newborns lose the right to higher social benefits if they were born even one day before the adoption of the new law.
Meanwhile, Ukrposhta is on the verge of default:
-
Board members receive ₴165,000 per month,
-
Director Smilyansky – ₴1.2 million per month,
-
Totaling ₴1.86 million per month for “effective” management.
These are the priorities.
