Rescuers found a survivor at the crash site of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner passenger plane in Ahmedabad, India, on June 12.

This is reported by India Today.

According to journalists, the sole survivor was 39-year-old British citizen Ramesh Vishwaskumar, who was traveling with his brother.

Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik stated that the victim was found in a city hospital, where he had arrived on his own after the crash.

Vishwaskumar was seated in 11A, near a window and an emergency exit—positions experts believe contributed to his survival. The plane crashed almost immediately after takeoff, and most passengers, including Vishwaskumar’s brother, died instantly.

“When I opened my eyes, there were bodies all around. I got up, ran out into the street, and stopped passers-by. They took me to an ambulance,” the man told local media.

The tail of the plane reportedly struck a medical college dormitory. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the scene. Despite initial police statements claiming there were no survivors, Ramesh’s story shocked even local security forces.

More than 240 people were on board the flight, which was headed to London. Most passengers were Indian citizens, with no Ukrainians aboard. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with experts examining possible technical malfunctions.
