France may offer Greece to transfer 43 Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine along with spare parts. In return, Athens may receive favorable terms for the purchase of Rafale aircraft.

This is reported by “European Truth” .

This is a possible proposal that French President Emmanuel Macron may present during his visit to Greece on April 24 and 25. According to information, the transfer of all 43 Greek Mirage 2000 aircraft to Ukraine is being discussed.

It is noted that the Greek fleet includes:

  • 24 Mirage 2000-5 aircraft;
  • 19 Mirage 2000 EGM/BGM aircraft.

Some of the older models have already been decommissioned, so not all aircraft may be combat-ready.

The French side, according to journalists, may offer Greece a “similar number” of Rafale fighters at a reduced price. The final terms of the deal and its cost should be agreed upon during negotiations between the parties.

As noted, the implementation of such a scheme will allow the 114th Greek Fighter Squadron to form two full-fledged squadrons, equipped with a total of 36 Rafale aircraft.

By the way, Ukraine will receive another batch of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft from France . This will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, which is extremely important during the aggressor’s massive missile and drone attacks.

It was previously reported that Ukraine will receive 2 Mirage 2000 fighters from France as part of military assistance by the end of the first quarter of 2026 (by May 10) . The aircraft are to supplement the 3 aircraft transferred earlier, one of which was lost.
