Missile strike on Lviv region: SBU shows photo of Oreshnik’s remains

The security service has released a photo of the wreckage of the Oreshnik ballistic missile, which the Russian army used to strike the territory of Ukraine on the night of January 9.
This was reported to the SBU.
In particular, experts have located the remains of a Russian missile, which were previously attributed to Oreshnik.
Among the discovered debris are the stabilization and guidance unit, spare parts from the engine installation, fragments of the orientation mechanism, and nozzles from the platform of the distribution unit.
The relevant details will be transferred for in-depth examinations. They have the status of physical evidence.
As noted, the enemy probably fired a missile from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region. The use of the Oreshnik against civilian infrastructure is classified by the SBU as a war crime.
“By attacking civilian facilities of our state near the border with the European Union, the Kremlin attempted to destroy the region’s life support infrastructure in conditions of sharply deteriorating weather conditions,” said a spokesman for the Security Service.
All circumstances of the crime are currently being investigated and the individuals involved in the attack are being identified.
As a reminder, on the night of January 9, Lviv region was hit by a missile strike , which hit a critical infrastructure facility. After the attack, fires and gas supply disruptions were recorded in some areas of the region.
Subsequently, videos of the alleged moment of arrival and the consequences of the strike appeared online, which are linked to the use of the Russian Oreshnik ballistic missile.
As is known, Ukraine will appeal to international partners to demand an immediate response to Russia’s use of a medium-range ballistic missile against the Lviv region.
