Ukraine’s Army 2030: Syrskyi Unveils a Massive Rearmament Plan

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has approved a long-term plan to modernize the country’s missile forces and artillery through 2030, with a focus on advanced strike systems, upgraded firepower, and expanded capabilities to hit targets deep inside enemy territory.

This was reported by Oleksandr Syrsky.

According to him, full-scale war has significantly changed the nature of combat operations, but artillery remains one of the key elements of the modern battlefield.

The concept takes into account the experience of the war with Russia, the development of unmanned systems, new means of destruction, and modern combat technologies.

One of the priorities has been identified as rearming units with Ukrainian-made equipment. The Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to gradually phase out outdated artillery systems of Soviet calibers that are no longer repairable or modernizable.

The document also provides for the creation of a modern artillery reconnaissance system, on which the effectiveness of artillery use on the battlefield largely depends today.

A separate direction concerns the development of missile weapons. According to Syrsky, Ukraine must complete the development and establish serial production of its own ballistic and cruise missiles.

When combined with unmanned systems, this should enable strikes at targets up to 2,000 kilometers away.

“We must increase our capabilities for fire impact on the entire operational strategic and strategic depth of the enemy,” the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

Syrsky also noted that artillery was and remains one of the main factors in deterring Russian aggression and will continue to play an important role in the war.

As previously reported, the Defense Forces continue to maintain the initiative in certain areas of the front and, as a result of active actions in May, liberated almost 100 sq. km more territory than they lost.

As a reminder, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, held a meeting at which he raised the issue of developing “small air defense” and strengthening its effectiveness.
