Mobilization in Ukraine: Are there enough troops for a major counteroffensive?

Ukraine is mobilizing only half of what is needed to fully staff its combat brigades and create reserves. This is enough to maintain the front at the current pace.
People’s Deputy Roman Kostenko announced this in an interview with News LIVE.
“We’re not talking about major counteroffensive operations. We’re talking about holding the line. No one’s talking about creating new units,” Kostenko noted.
According to him, mobilization is proceeding better than six months ago, but the quality of conscripts is worse. To improve this, young people need to be trained in advance, rather than sent abroad.
As Pryamyi previously reported, following the government’s approval, men aged 18 to 22 began leaving Ukraine en masse. This trend is particularly noticeable in Ukraine’s western regions .
This is already having tangible consequences for Ukrainian businesses, particularly those sectors that require physical stamina and flexible work schedules.
