The Verkhovna Rada is discussing possible changes to mobilization that could affect those liable for military service with reservations and those who have not updated their data or have committed a felony.

This was reported by TSN.ua, citing a source in parliament.

According to the interlocutor, among the key changes is the strengthening of approaches to individuals who have voluntarily left the units.

“Regarding the SZCH: stricter mechanisms are being discussed and may be implemented,” the source noted.

The authorities also plan to pay attention to approximately one million men who have not updated their military registration data.

“Their location will be established, they may be the No. 1 focus,” the source said.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense is preparing clearer mechanisms to improve mobilization, including using an identification code.

In addition, parliament is discussing a review of the reservation system.

This involves analyzing the defense industry’s real need for reserved personnel and a possible reduction in the number of such reservations.

“If segments are identified that do not need such a quantity, there will be a reduction,” the source noted.

They also plan to tighten control over abuses when people are formally employed to obtain armor and then fired.

According to the interlocutor, new legislative decisions may be required to implement the changes.

In Ukraine, mobilization and martial law have been extended until May 2026.

It was previously reported that Ukraine may introduce new restrictions for citizens who evade mobilization, as well as for servicemen who voluntarily left military units.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian military was warned that after leaving the unit without authorization, they will now only be able to transfer to assault troops.
